Mission Statement
CYSA exists to help children in the development of positive life skills and experiences.  Using soccer as
our tool, we endeavor to provide safe, enjoyable opportunities for all children as they learn to play the game.

Our mission is to teach fundamentals that will guide our children both on and off the field, including good sportsmanship, character, discipline, competitiveness, leadership and teamwork in a positive, caring and safe environment.  All children participating in our programs will have an opportunity to learn and compete while knowledgeable volunteers promote the philosophies and principles of community and fair play, while sharing with their coaches and teammates the emotions of success and failure.

About CYSA

CYSA is a non-profit organization that was formed over 20 years ago with a goal to provide children of Cumberland a safe place to play organized soccer. We offer a Fall Recreational/Instructional Season for all players, and both an Indoor Competitive and Spring Outdoor Season for more advanced players.  In addition, we offer camps and instructional academies throughout the year for players of all levels who wish to enhance their skills.

CYSA is sanctioned by both Soccer Rhode Island (SRI) and US Youth Soccer and abides by their rules and regulations. All rostered/registered players are insured through SRI, and all Adult Volunteers (Coaches/Board Members/General Volunteers) must pass SRI’s background check to ensure the safety of our players.

We work closely with the Town of Cumberland's Parks and Recreation Department. Historically, we have used Diamond Hill Park, Cumberland Hill School and Tucker Field for our games and practices.
